A fresh start

Where has the time gone? I can't believe that our last blog post was in October -- you know what they say, time flies when you're having fun!

With a wonderful Christmas and winter season behind us, spring has arrived and with the bloom of every new bud reminds us at Village Vines that it is time we make a fresh start - dedicating more time to all things social media (this blog being one of them), and gearing up for wedding season... Oh who am I kidding, it's the 8th of June, wedding season has been in full swing for the past month and a half!

So far this season we have had lots of exciting and beautiful celebrations that we have supplied the flowers and decor for. The arrival of spring has also brought on a lot of fresh, o'natural decorative requests from our brides. Vintage and Garden styled weddings have made fresh cut flowers and earthy greens a highlight so far. Our brides have seen the timeless elegance of simplicity, and with our Huron County roots, we believe embracing the ambiance of your surroundings really does make the most beautiful setting!

Check out some pictures from a couple of our weddings so far this season:

This wedding reception took place at the Oakwood Inn Resort in Grandbend on April 14th. With the rustic wood beams and dramatic fireplace, this bride got the vintage feel she was looking for! Burlap, lace, antique suitcases, staggered chopped wood and hundreds of lit candles and mason jars gave this evening wedding reception a relaxed, yet romantic feel. Village Vines took an overall wedding decorator role, supplying the candy table, cupcakes, centrepieces, bouquets and all of the decor!

Michelle and Mike's wedding took place at the Hessenland Country Inn in St.Joes on May 12th, and I must say the garden style wedding fit this venue perfectly.  The flowers were a beautiful white and green combo, consisting of mainly hydrangeas, with some roses and spider moms mixed in. This fresh look was enhanced by the gorgeous gazebo they were married in front of! The cake looked fabulous and we think you'll agree, the large centrepiece seen below was stunning!

... and check out these gorgeous photos by Darlene O'Rourke!

Happy weekend everyone, enjoy the wonderful weather!
